This year, European Humanists met in Athens for EHF annual General Assembly. This meeting was the opportunity to shed light on the shameful Greek "blasphemy" law and to support humanist activists struggling in advancing freedoms and rights in the country.

More than 60 young humanists gathered in Bucharest from 24 to 26 April to discuss the challenges faced by Eastern, Baltic, Caucasus and Southeastern countries regarding humanism and secularism. The EHF was pleased to support and contribute to this interactive event.

On 10 March, the European Parliament adopted the Tarabella report and committed to further actions towards gender equality in Europe. Importantly also, MEPs have clearly agreed that women must have control over their sexual and reproductive health and rights, including access to contraception, legal abortion and sexuality education. This is a reassuring move after the rejection of the Estrela report on SRHR in 2013.
